Dr Sushila Nayar was a visionary and the third Health Minister of India. She did her MBBS & MD from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi and later shifted to Sewagram, Maharashtra where she was closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi. She became his personal physician and inculcated his values and ethos, which she practised diligently till her last days. She established the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in 1969, which still follows principles and Gandhian ways of life.
The 2nd Dr Sushila Nair Oration Award will be conferred upon the young Community Physicians who will fulfil not only the academic criteria but will also demonstrate the principles of community development and population health in the Gandhian spirit.
To recognise and honour the academic, service and research achievements of the young Community Physician and encourage them to grow further in their profession and be an inspiration for others.
All students currently pursuing post-graduation in the Department of Community Medicine
The prelims shall consist of 50 questions which shall be paper based and shall include MCQ’s, fill in the blanks, assertion and reasoning, match the following and puzzle
Best of five shall participate in final round. Final round shall be an audio-visual round on stage. Detailed instructions shall be provided on the day of quiz
This competition is dedicated towards creating innovative solutions for current issues in the field of public health.
Proposals are invited in the form of abstracts, which should include the following narrative.
Format: The abstract must be formatted to include the problem, solution, innovation, and expected impact. Please include the headers (i.e., problem, solution, innovation, scientific basis for innovation, expected impact, resources).
Selection Criteria: The abstract must adhere to the above format, and must include all sections. Gross deviation from the format will lead to disqualification. The abstract will be evaluated based on the level of innovation, the expected impact and description of metrics, and the details that indicate that it is scientific and will be effective.
Registered teams need to submit their short video clip.

Submission guidelines: Participants are required to follow the eligibility and register latest by 30th July 2022. The participant must comply with the following guidelines:
Participant selection: Eligible participants will be shortlisted by a panel of judges comprising representatives of the Organizers and at least one independent judge. The final selection of images will also be judged by a panel of judges comprising representatives of the Organizers and at least one independent judge.
At all stages, entries will be judged based on interpretation of the theme, creativity, artistic merit, emotion, impact, originality, aesthetic appeal and photographic skill.
In the event of a tie, the independent judge will select the winner from all tied entries using the original criteria. The decisions of the judging panel will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
Winner Notification: Winners will be notified via the Email ID provided by the participant. Results will be declared by the 1st week of November 2022.
Prizes: Will be disclosed at the 3rd IAPSM young leader’s national conclave, November 2022!
